I love my new 770.......but I am wishing I had the patience to wait for a card like this. Sure I would have giving up Physx ,3D vision and Gsync capability's. But as for Brute force power these overclockable regular 290's are the best bang for your buck.....that is for sure.
Amazing performance for 430-450$ as long as you can keep ambient temps around 70f or 21c these new coolers will have no problem letting you overclock the 290's to outperform a stock 290x with ease.
The oc 290's pretty much shoot AMD in the foot since the 290x is not worth 100$ more then a 290 performance wise. But as with everything the new custom cooled 290x's will get there fair share of sales but I see the 290's outselling them bt 2-1.
Which is probably a good thing for AMD since they can use all the chips that do not have all the shaders needed for 290x cards.
I am curious to know how much it actually costs the AMD/ ASUS MSI Sapphire, EVGA ETC to make all the cards. At least how much the 780ti and 290x Chips cost per unit. Since that would be the cost for all the chips under all the flagship Chips since they all come off the same wafers I would think.
Also I wonder how many 780ti,780, TITAN and 290x, 290 chips they get off each wafer. Also the yields on the average of usable chips per wafer to how many cannot be used.
