Postposted on Tue Feb 25, 2014 11:53 am

Hello everyone,

We’ve just released the Catalyst 14.2 Beta driver today (in-sync with the launch of Thief by Eidos Montreal). You may download the new Catalyst 14.2 Beta driver from here: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-article ... -beta.aspx

AMD Radeon customers will have support for: 4K gaming, AMD Eyefinity and AMD CrossFire technologies; and everyone will benefit from the following graphics effects:

• Silhouette-enhancing tessellation to improve character geometry
• Compute shader-accelerated depth of field for realistic focal lengths
• Complex shadowing systems to support Thief’s dependence on shadows as a core gameplay mechanic
• More details on the pc-specific features and the game’s system requirements here: http://community.eidosmontreal.com/blog ... heme=thief

Please refer to the Feature Highlights for more information about the driver. We are also in the process of updating the known issues page (http://www.amd.com/mantleknownissues) to reflect the changes in the Mantle component of this driver. And here is the link to the Issue Reporting Form: http://www.amdsurveys.com/se.ashx?s=5A1E27D25AD12B1A

Please keep in mind the Mantle and TrueAudio patch for Thief will be available in March.

Hello again everyone,

Wanted to inform you have updated the Mantle Known Issues page: http://support.amd.com/en-us/kb-article ... ssues.aspx

"Below are the known issues AMD has found in the current Mantle-enabled Beta driver. We are providing this driver as is to highlight the potential of Mantle and are hard at work to further enhance the user experience.

Mantle performance for the AMD Radeon™ HD 7000/HD 8000 Series GPUs and AMD Radeon™ R9 280X and R9 270X GPUs will be optimized for BattleField 4™ in future AMD Catalyst™ releases. These products will see limited gains in BattleField 4™ and AMD is currently investigating optimizations for them.
Multi-GPU support under DirectX® and Mantle will be added to StarSwarm in a future application patch
Notebooks based on AMD Enduro or PowerXpress™ technologies are currently not supported by the Battlefield 4™ application in the Mantle codepath
AMD Eyefinity configurations utilizing portrait display orientations are currently not supported by the Mantle codepath in Battlefield 4™
Graphics hardware in the AMD A10-7850K and A10-7700K may override the presence of a discrete GPU under the Mantle codepath in Battlefield 4™

AMD testing for the AMD Catalyst™ 14.1 Beta has been concentrated on the following products: AMD Radeon™ R9 290X, R9 290, R9 280, R9 270, R7 260X, R7 260, HD 7000 Series, HD 8000 Series, A10-7850K and A10-7700K. Future AMD Catalyst™ releases will include full test coverage for all AMD products supported by Mantle."

Hi good to see... I updated yesterday to try and stop an issue where iTunes was somehow crashing my video drivers.
Wish Apple would make iTunes work right with Windows 8.

So far working well... Gaming Evolved is kinda cool, trying to figure the features out for the optimization still.
