The 280x would be replacing an ancient 9800GT!

To replace my 660 in a Kaveri, because it's a damn shame to have this and still not be able to use Mantle.



(And yes, Person of Interest needs to be there. It needs to be everywhere.)

(Because I'm self conscious, yes, the PSU is loose. I was having problems with another one and only put this in to test, so far it's working beautifully. Will be secured tonight.)

It would replace my AMD 6850 card, and what a replacement it would be!

I've got a ASUS 6870 that's getting a wee long in the tooth, that I'd be replacing, should I win.

If i win, it would replace my 6970, which has served me well over the years.
Sadly the fan has started to become a bit noisy. My fault probably for running the card so heavily overclocked for so long.
She's been a good card, but it is time to move on.

For those who want to know, the jerseys are Spezza, Selanne, and Messier. Just off screen is Bure. In my other room I have Alfredsson, MacInnis and Karlsson. In storage I have a Crosby ( team Candada), Sakic ( Quebec ), Eberle, and Van riemsdyk ( ugh...leafs ). Haven't decided for habs. Muller, Damphousse, or Lafleur. Leaning to Damphousse. I remember him most from my youth. That will complete my Canadian team memories jersey collection.

This card would be replacing my two GTX 660s in SLI.

I have two friends that are on the fence about building their first gaming PCs, and a free GPU for each of them would give them the extra push they need. I was going to replace them with a GTX 770 or 780, but this is a perfect opportunity to join Team Red.

This card is a workhorse. I have it overclocked to the max.

Why are all these people posting.... Without pictures? It clearly says "POST A PICTURE".

I will take a picture later and edit it in here, at work right now.

It would live on the mountain of power (ATCS840), across a river of blood (32GB of 1600MHz), upon a throne of skulls (MSI Z97 Mate), next to the current Champion of Khorne (i7-4790K)!

This would replace an old Radeon 5770 in my Shuttle SH67H3 - however I'd need to upgrade the stock 300W power supply to be able to use it!

It's not my contest and all, but some of you guys perhaps should reread the first post.

The R9 280X would be replacing my Asus Geforce 9600 GSO 512MB DDR3 card. I know, right? Hopefully I'll be able to play games above 640x480 rez. Its gonna be put in my good ol' Antec 300 case with an MSI 790FX-GD70 and 12 gigs of DDr3 1600 ram and a phenom II 965 BE o/c'ed to 4Ghz.

Rather than replacing my current HiS R9 280X it will compliment it in a crossfire config. I've recently purchased new parts to make some minor upgrades to my current rig (Corsair 400R case and a new 650w Corsair PSU) My younger brother, however, will probably convince me to give him one of my 280X cards to replace his 6870 so he can take that saved 300$ and spend it on a new CPU and motherboard that he sorely needs.

Either a BFG 580GTX in my main rig or a failing AMD 6970 2GB in my workbench rig.

The 580 still does a credible job playing Company of Heroes 2 (@1440x900) and the poor 6970 is driving two 22" panels and playing nothing since it locks up on benchmarks.

This would be replacing my MSI Radeon 7850 2GB... or going into a new build for my fiance!

That's my R9 270 in there. It handles 1080 like a champ, but I've been craving that 1440. I'd probably give my 270 to a friend of mine who is still on a 6770 or something. Double charity right there guys. You'd be helping two people out at once.

Replacing a HIS 6950 2gb. I could really use it.

It would go into this old PC that will replace a GTX 8800 workhorse (RIP) that is in there now.

Because I, and I suspect every one else without a picture, skipped over the speal at the top and skipped straight to the rules and regulations about the contest. There is no mention of a picture in the rules section and there probably should be.

I will have to see if I can get my camera and/or phone to come back to life long enough to get one picture so I can edit one into my entry post.

If I were to obtain this unit it will replacing a EVGA 660Ti 3GiB or a Visiontek HD 4850 520MiB depending now whatever it is faster or not.
