Need Dimensions on Zotac GTX970 for small case

Sun Nov 23, 2014 10:36 pm

Hi guys:

Put simply, I can not find the dimensions on this card but this Asus Gtx760 is currently installed and fits with NO room to spare. I want to upgrade to a faster video card but my case only accommodates a dual slot card less than 9 inches long. This link is to the actual card installed rite now.

Going by the pics on this zotac GTX970 ( I can not find the dimensions anywhere not even on their site) and assuming the PCI x 16 sections of every card are standard it would appear that this card has a very good chance of fitting... Please let me know if this card is less than 9 inches:

While I can't help with the Zotac card's dimensions, have you considered this Gigabyte one designed for ITX cases? There is no markup over other cards ($330 MSRP, and it was briefly available at Amazon.com for this price but is now OOS):

Edit: in stock at newegg for $329 before $10 MIR:

How does that card work compared to longer sized cards? Something has to be missing.. Otherwise why wouldn't they all be this size?

From what I hear, it works the same. The only reason the other cards came first is that most of them use the reference PCB. This one was only released here around the first or second week of November.

I just ordered the gigabyte card. I can not thank you enough. I have been hunting around for this "short" card version of the GTX 970 but did not think it would come to market or even existed. Nvidia is also giving you a choice of 3 games. Far Cry 4 (*which I bought 3 days ago OUCH! and is part of the reason for my upgrade) Assasins Creed Unity and The Crew) I moved to a 1600p Monitor from 1080p about 2 months ago and it proves too much for Ye Old GTX 760.

Kudos!

You're very welcome. I hope you like the card! I'm also planning to order one soon, and can't see why I'd get any other card, given that this one is so unique compared to all the rest of the pack (well, maybe if I planned to OC, the bigger cards might work better, but since I don't, this seems ideal, especially for smaller form factors I use).

PS. If you don't want any of the games, you could consider selling the redemption code on a forum (here, reddit, etc.). I saw some people doing that and it may be a good way to recoup your Far Cry 4 investment...

This card arrived today and is awesome. It is actually smaller than my GTX760 and enables 1600p at max settings on the "buggy" Far cry 4 .. "NVIDIA" settings.

Feels like around 45 fps if I had to guess. This is an excellent deal.. The 760 is up on eBay now.
