Vista install problem

Postposted on Tue Aug 07, 2012 2:41 pm

I just did vista install over a XP partition. After it finished updating files during the install it restarted.
Then it shows "press any key to boot from CD or DVD" or so and stays there.

Then I tried the recovery console with XP and it got to the restart and it showed press F11 for recovery. F11 didn't work. This was done with the XP OS disc.
The drive has a few partitions. i was using Ubuntu 12.4 on a partition to the installs.

Thanks.

Solved.

Ubuntu changed the master boot record. I used OS disc and command prompt to fix it.
Found solution via Ubuntu forums.
Thanks.
