I'm trying to scan all of my analog pictures from good old times.
This gives me a bunch of PDF files that needs to be converted to JPG images.

I'm looking for software that can batch convert all my multi-page PDF documents into JPG files.

Any advice?

What program are you using to scan? Or are you doing this at work and doing scan-to-email on a big copier? And are you asking for a Windows program? Or OS X? Or Linux? If so, what version of whatever operating system are you running?

It's an odd request so I don't have any personal experience with this stuff. Most of the time if you scan at home, you don't choose PDF as the save format. I've seen some default to TIFF, but not really PDF. If you are doing this at work, bear in mind that most scan-to-email functions allow you to change the format as well so you could probably have told it TIFF or JPG to email you or dump to a network location (depending on how the copier is set up).

The most original way would be the trusty "print screen" button.
Afterwards you can paste the print screen image into MS Paint or IrfanView.

The best option would be to install "Virtual Image Printer Driver" (works only on Windows).
Then you can convert ANY document into JPG images.
This program is Open Source, free

The easiest option is to use an online PDF to JPG converter, no need to install any software and you can simply share the url with your friends.

Another option in my mind is to upload it to Google Docs and share it there.

You can open the PDF's up in Gimp and simply export them as jpegs. Gimp will let you open up multi-page PDFs as a series of images too.

Why don't you just use adobe acrobat? You can file save as to jpg's.

For your information, i use a Mac and i have Acrobat reader.
I can't find out how i can save it from there. Would be much easier then using a website.

Yes, the best approach is to skip the PDF step and just scan directly to jpegs. Typical image processing software like Photoshop has this option, but obviously we have to work with what you have available or can install. I'm not a Mac guy so I'm not going to hazard a guess about the best thing to use, but it's possible you already have what you need. Scanners typically come with basic software for this, or make it available as a download. What make and model of scanner is it?

Separate from that, you want something to convert the pictures you've already scanned to PDF (to save you the work of scanning them again -- though it's possible you might get better-quality results that way). The best option is probably Ghostscript or ImageMagick, but those are pretty technical (and I'm not sure about how well they work on a Mac). So I'll leave that to the Mac heads here.

Acrobat READER doesn't let you save as much of anything. Acrobat probably does. Unfortunately, Acrobat READER is free and Acrobat (the thing that makes PDFs) costs about $170 or more.

GIMP supposedly has an OS X version coming "soon".

You're on a Mac. The entire GUI is written as PDF. WHY ARE YOU USING ADOBE ACROBAT READER?!? OS X displays PDFs just fine with built-in applications. Try this:

I think several of us are still curious as to how you ended up in this situation. All we know is:

You run OS X
You scanned photos into PDF somehow

What we don't know:

What hardware did you use to scan your photos?
What software did you use to scan your photos?
Can you just rescan it using a different "save as" option?
