IIRC, SNES9X was one of the best emulators for SNES, and there is a Mac version you can download.

Thanks.

I've had a look at SNES9X and it does seem awesome... but it doesn't work from time to time (including now) with my USB XBOX controller. I can't figure out why not.

It pretty much is the current best Mac SNES emulator out there.

As for your controller issue, are there even official Macintosh drivers for the X360 controller?

No Mac port of BSNES?

There is, but IIRC it was a hell of a time to get it to work back in the day. Now, the emulator has moved to a more and more user unfriendly place, and renamed itself Higen as it does more than just SNES now. The most egregious example is how to play SNES games you have to use a program to create a folder out of your ROM. The idea is to make each individual ROM chip on the original cart its own file ala MAME, but they did it in the most annoying and hell to use fashion. it also destroys the possibility of using the ROM on a different emulator, or patching it to fix a bug/whatever.

I can't really recommend it for Mac use. Older versions would be fine for Windows and Linux, but as far as I know, Mac use is not recommended for people who don't want to fight the program to get it to work, and use other programs to even put your ROMs in the right freaking format.

I'm porting BSNES to native Cocoa (right now it requires X11 but it's no fun.)

This is by far the best SNES emulator out there, as far as accuracy is concerned. SNES9X is the second best choice, with significantly lower CPU requirements (so it may be a better choice on the road or if you have an older system.)

Wow. Awesome info guys.

Good luck on the Mac port BlackStar.

BTW, I'm using this (http://tattiebogle.net/index.php/Projec ... /OsxDriver) driver for the controller. It seems to work pretty well. Feedback and everything.
