Onedrive reducing files when it shouldn't ?

Mon Feb 24, 2014 9:45 am

In the App, in Settings I have 'Photo downloads' set to original (not resized) but if I pull the photo off my iPhone and compare it to that OneDrive is supposed to backup, the image is reduced and the file size compressed.

eg.
direct pull from iPhone : 3264x2448 2.09MB
via Onedrive: 2048x1536 688kb

Isn't the original supposed to be preserved, ie. a back-up ? Anyone else noticed this ?

Thanks.

Tried:
  • Phone's file manager for original picture
  • Download from OneDrive app to phone, then use file manager
  • Download with PC web browser from OneDrive site

All the same. I use an Android phone though.
The Model M is not for the faint of heart. You either like them or hate them.

Apparently it is a "feature". Supposedly you can disable it, but maybe that's been removed in the latest version?
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.
