Who to start (non-TR)?

Fri Sep 14, 2007 9:41 pm

Willis MacGahee vs the Jets
Adrian Peterson @Detroit
Reggie Bush @ Tampa Bay

I'm leaning toward Willis & Adrian, but would welcome other opinions

That's probably what I'd do too.

Peterson and McGahee would be my choices.

I agree too. Ok, here's my quandary...

Steven Jackson vs. San Fran
Shaun Alexander vs. Cards
Adrian Peterson vs. A Steaming Pile of Crap

Alexander is going to be wearing a cast, but always eats up the Cards. Jackson sucked last week, but the Niners look pretty soft on the run, but then you've got Peterson who's playing against Detroit and might get more carries than last week.

BAH!

What, no love for Reggie Bush?

1. Fred Taylor (JAC-RB) or Ronnie Brown (MIA-RB)? Brown has better projected points, but Taylor has an easier match-up.

2. Alge Clumpler (ATL-TE) or L.J. Smith (PHI-TE)? Both are hurt... :-?
Probably PUI. Definitely an كافر

ACK! I'm having a bad week for running backs. Pick two...

Ladell Betts vs. Detroit <- Possibly sharing carries
Julius Jones vs. Buffalo <- Sharing carries
Travis Henry vs. SD <- Injured, pot-head
Selvin Young vs. SD <- Dependent on Henry sitting
Shaun Alexander vs. Pit <- Not a good matchup

Any thoughts? I'm stuck!

Shaun Alexander is a work horse, he might rush 12 times for 25 yards, but they'll keep giving it to him and get you some respectable points in the end.

I don't know. I haven't had a lot of faith in him this year, and I think the Steelers are #1 against the run. He's probably my least favorite of the picks...

I've got a flex W/R in a non-TR league...

Any suggestions for who to plug in?

Andre Davis (HOU)
Willis McGahee (BAL)
F. Taylor (JAX)
S. Young (DEN)

Also have these guys, but they are just taking up roster space:
Tatum Bell
Vincent Jackson

(I missed the draft in this league)

Ladell Betts (Portis isn't 100%, Detroit sucks) and Shaun Alexander would be my picks probably. I might roll the dice with with Selvin, if come arly Sunday they say Travis is sitting...

I would go either Andre Davis (schaub has to throw to someone) or McGahee. Prb the latter.

With Travis Henry the idiot out for a year, shouldn't Selvin Young do well in Denver's running attack?

Thanks.. that's what I thought... now the question is should I take a chance with Addai? he's my primary back.. which means should I leave him in, or plug in S.Young vs. SD or McGahee vs. SF?

Well, I played Alexander and T. Jones this week. I couldn't have done much worse just benching the position. :x

Well I can just about guarantee I lost, Holmes injures himself in pregame, Addai was a game time decision and he's out so that's about 25-40 points there gone, no one else had a huge day, and marion barber will probably run all over the Bills tomorrow.

There should be a window in Fantasy Sports where you can start a player provided that the game hasn't started yet ie the kickoff, so you can at least put someone else in. They stop allowing changes well before that, suck fest.

At least the Steelers second and third stringers beat up the cry baby seahawks.... /troll

You can change your lineup up to 10 or 15 minutes before kickoff.

Santonio Holmes messed up my wife's week as well.

How much does that suck when your starter hurts himself in warmup and is out for the game. Doh.

Will Ward be back for the next game I wonder? (got him on my bench in NoDogFightsAllowed).

Our work league is operated through Yahoo and I changed my lineup for the Colts game 5 minutes before kickoff when I learned that Harrison was inactive for the game.

I have Kevin Jones in both my leagues here and he's averaging around 10 points a game for his last 4 while recovering from his foot injury and sharing time with Tatum Bell (Tatum Bell was the starter for 3 of those 4 games). I worry a little because they're going up against Chicago but I'm starting him over Cedric Benson and Chicago's defense is sucking these days anyway. Now that he's the #1 back and his foot is getting better I'd take him over Bush any day.

I'll be starting Kevin Jones this weekend against the Bears in the keepers FWIW. You can run on the Bears. Kevin is looking more and more involved since he came back.

Bush will get his touches for sure though. I just think that SF has a better run defense.

Manning against the Chargers
or
Brees against the Rams

I can't believe I'd bench Manning, but the Brees matchup looks pretty good.

Most of the analyst stuff I've read has Brees as the #1 fantasy QB this weekend, FWIW.

Yeah, I'm kind of thinking Addai is going to be running his ass off this weekend, so Peyton might not throw. Brees is looking good, the Rams, not so much. Can't believe I just picked him up this week, of course, I'm not in a very big league.

Brandon Marshall (DEN - WR) vs. KAN

Pick one from:

Steven Jackson (STL- RB) @ NO
Kenny Watson (CIN - RB) @ BAL
Jamal Lewis (CLE - RB) @ PIT
Priest Holmes (KC - RB) @home against DEN

I'm leaning towards Steven or Priest
