NHL trade deadline day

So anyone looking forward to possible trades on their teams?

Montreal seems to be going after Hossa. They would give away Ryder, Lapierre, and an AHL player. I think that would be a good addition for the Habs.

Watching TSN this morning, they are saying that there is a possibility that Emery could be on the block too.

Should be interesting.

I like the Hossa trade too. We'll see about Forsberg going to the Avs - wonder if he can stay healthy, but they are all healthy and could make a run. Sundin is staying put. Haven't heard anything about Jokinen from Florida going anyplace. Looks like McCarty is back with the Wings - hopefully he can add some presence there. Dunno about Emery, he can come to the Wings if he wants :-) I'm just not confident about Hasek at all anymore.

OMG.........

Montreal just traded Huet to the Capitals for a second round draft pick???????

Looks like the Capitals could be in the market for Emery after all.

I love Hasek and am thankful for his service but he's not the dominator anymore. Goaltending has been our crux along with injuries the last 8 years sans the cup year. McCarty had a luke warm run in Grand Rapids, not sure I like them throwing a contract his way.

Goaltending wasn't the issue last year. Team health was. Too many top players out with injuries. Much like now. Howard and Osgood have been stellar in their last few starts, but without Lidstrom, Chelios, Rafalski, Kronwal, well that is 4 of your starting 6 defenseman all out at the same time. Unless your name is Shawchuk, your not going to fair well.

I would be more worried about a solid second line scorer. Datsuyk and Zetterberg cannot carry this team by themselves. Any good cup team needs two killer lines, 1 good line and a utility line. We've been lacking that really strong second line for some time now.

I would love to see Olli Jokinen come to Hockeytown, somehow - and be that 2nd line center.

I would have liked to see Federov come back - as a Defenseman. He went to the Caps.

Marian Hossa is now a Penguin.

In other news Pittsburg will likely win the cup, Washington WON this trade day, and Montreal lost.

Damned Sens won't move Emry, because who would want him?

At least paddock looks to be leaving.

Owned. They gave up a pick, and Christensen who is badass on the shootout but crap otherwise, and armstrong who I think will shine anywhere eventually. Pens are my number 2, but how long can they keep (3) 6-8 mil players?

We'll see if that back up goalie Conklin replacing Fleury can do the job for much longer....so far so good.

He is very popular in Detroit. I think it's a good move just for the local fans. Even if he warms the bench.
