TR Pro Football Pick'Em and Survival Football

Fri Aug 08, 2008 11:47 am

To go with our regular fantasy football leagues, I've created a league for a Pick'Em game and for a Survival Game.

Pro Football Pick'Em: This is pretty self explanatory. Just pick which teams you think will win for each week before the first game. You earn a point for each correct pick and the total points are added up over the season. Yahoo has some tiebreaker questions each week as well (like which team will score the most/least points and predict the prime time game scores). In the past few years we've had weekly threads where people picked who they thought would win so now we can keep score. :D

The league is here: http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/pickem/13775

Survival Football: In this game, you pick one team a week that you think will win their game. If you're correct, you get to play next week. If not, you're out for the season. Also, you can only use a team once so you can't pick the Patriots every week. This one is pretty fun and a nice change of pace to the regular Pick'Em game.

The league is here: http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/survival/654

There are 50 slots open in both leagues so we should have enough for everyone who wants to play. If you want in, just post in this thread and say which game (or both) you want to play. I'll send an invite to the e-mail address that's listed in your TR profile so make sure that the e-mail address is current. This way I won't get swamped in PMs like idchafee does.

Hit me for both.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

Invites sent to everyone who's posted so far. Looks like it's working okay as Captain Ned has joined up. I'm heading to the airport so I won't be able to add anyone else until I next get to a computer. But there's no hurry as the first game is some weeks away. TOO LONG TO WAIT! Bring on the FOOTBALL!

My draft day is here and yahoo will not let me join. Anyone else having problems? I've tested 4 browsers, none of them work but the "test" worked earlier today. First GMail and now this.

Nope, the draft is in flash. It loads to what looks like 97% and stops.

This blows hard. Worst draft ever, it didn't use my pre-rankings either. What the **** is wrong with the interwebs this week?

Last chance to sign up! And don't forget to get your picks in before the game tomorrow, otherwise you'll lose the week (or be eliminated in the Survival game).

Thanks a lot San Diego. Way to let Carolina score at the last possible minute winning the game, which in turn, eliminated me in Week 1. Way to go.
