Ranked below USF. That's downright shameful. I knew this week was going to shake things up, I just didn't know how much.

I'm going to have to hope that OU goes undeated the rest of the season now since yet again the Canes lose to a team they are supposed to beat.Bama looks very good the 2 games I've watched them play this year,Clemson and Georgia. They certainly dominated the Dawgs and yet once again the so called experts had Clemson winning their division in the ACC,please give me a break,a Bowden coaches them.Thank goodness Florida lost, now all the Tebow groupies might shut up this year.Michigan certainly looked like a diferent team in the 2nd half against Wisconsin.USC should have been dropped from the Top Ten but yet once again the polls will keep them in a place where they can rebound from their loss.If I have to see another SEC team beat down another Big 10 team for the championship this coming January I'm liable to puke.On a completely different note, the Bills are 4-0!

EDIT: Why the hell is USC # 9 after losing to an UNRANKED team and Georgia is #11 after losing to a Top Ten team.I swear all these polls before October are a freakin joke.

The sad thing is, it was one of his better games this season, including a rushing touchdown. We just didn't have any bit of a rushing game, and those turnovers killed us. That said, he's out of the Heisman contention. Way too up-and-down. If Chase Daniel can keep it up, I think he's a lock.

It's really pretty rediculous how good the SEC and Big 12 are and how BAD the rest of the conferences are.

BIG 12: 6 teams ranked and two more getting votes. Almost 3/4 of the conference ranked? sweet sauce.
SEC: Also has 6 teams ranked and two more getting votes. Amazing. BTW Alabama looked DAMN good beating up on Georgia this past weekend.

BTW, i go to Kansas.

EDIT: didn't realize the BIG 12 had four teams in the top 7. Crazy.

Shouldn't be that hard to define some sort of "easy win" criteria and ignore score run-ups beyond that.

There was a guy in my High School that got recruited to go there. They showed it live over the classroom TV him signing his letter of intent. Ball State. Boring.

#5 baby!
I'm glad that USC didn't get their usual special treatment. (That said, I think we deserve to be more like #7)

When do the BSC polls start?

The BCS polls are already going...they run the entire season. The results of the computer portion just aren't released early in the season. The BCS standings for this year are first released next week I think.

Since today's ADs fire coaches at the first strong fart, the lifetime win number will live with whichever of the two dies last.

That fact that Penn State seems to be much better than Florida State tells me that Paterno is the senile old bat to back in that race.

edit: unless paterno drops dead soon and Bowden is able to hang on 5 years after that.

Bobby was halfway down the sidelines the whole game, away from the other coach's while they played Miami, seems to me for all intents and purposes Jimbo Fisher is the coach at FSU now.Penn State looks good this year,it'd be nice to see them win out and end up in the national championship.

This year even moreso than most years and looking back to how well Ohio St has held up in the championship games makes me smile in anticipation of Penn St finally facing a non-big 10 team that is decent. they will get their asses handed to them.

The Big 12 has most of the best teams this season.

I kind of wish there was a bottom 25. I think we know who' would be the caboose:
Washington State is the worst BCS-conference team of the BCS era. I can't say I have definitive evidence to back that claim. The extent of my research involved looking at the past 10 seasons of primary suspects Baylor, Duke, Rutgers and Temple (pre-2005) to see if they'd ever been as non-competitive as this year's Cougars. The answer is: No. Not even close. Wazzu has now lost games by scores of 69-0 (USC), 66-3 (Cal), 66-13 (Oregon State) and 63-14 (Oregon). On Saturday, the Trojans led the Cougars 41-0 at halftime. That hurts.
It's even worse than that. WSU had four first downs the entire game. They never crossed midfield. They only got further than their own 35 once, and that was because a third-string USC back fumbled at their 40. I mean, sure, it was USC, but they started letting up before halftime (starting to play the second string as early as the first quarter, letting time expire at the 10 before halftime, and playing their third string guys most of the second half -- and those guys still rolled up 4 TDs) and still It was the largest shutout victory for USC since a 69-0 win over Montana in 1931. Meanwhile, it was the worst margin of loss for WSU since they started playing in 1894; together with those other lopsided losses, they have been outscored 385-111 this season which is on track to beat the Pac-10 record for most points allowed in a season (469 by Oregon State in 1981).

This is a hilariously bad football team. Their only consolation is that, as always, they get to play the UW Huskies at the end of the season and they're almost as bad. Not as bad as the Seahawks, and certainly not as bad as the Mariners, but bad. (At least the Sonics can't have a losing season.)

There's the Bottom 10 (updated on Tuesday):
David Duffey wrote:
ESPN.com's Bottom 10: BCS All-Starr Edition
RANK TEAM RECORD COMMENT
1. Washington State 1-6 "It Don't Come Easy": That's definitely the case for the Cougars in Pac-10 play. Wazzu has been outscored 223-33 during its 0-4 Pac-10 start.
2. Washington 0-5 "Fastest Growing Heartache In The West": The wailful howls about the Huskies continue to grow around Seattle. With Oregon State, ND and USC up next, it could get even louder.
3. Syracuse 1-5 "Hard Times": The Orange failed to reach the end zone for the first time this season in their loss to WVU and fell to 2-21 in Big East games under Greg Robinson.
4. Rutgers 1-5 "Love Don't Last Long": The Scarlet Knights are only 11-12 since knocking off No 3. Louisville and rising to No. 7 in November 2006. Their slide keeps getting worse.
5. Tiger Beat 7-6 "With A Little Help From My Friends": Auburn and Clemson were expected to contend in 2008. Instead, both troubled Tigers have made midseason changes to their coaching staffs.
6. Tennessee 2-4 "No No Song": No, we're not talking about "Rocky Top," but the Pride of the Southland band isn't cranking up that tune as often these days -- except against UAB and NIU.
7. Texas A&M 2-4 "It's No Secret": The Aggies are struggling. Texas A&M is 0-2 for the first time ever in the Big 12 and has lost three games at Kyle Field.
8. Arizona State 2-4 "What Goes Around": The Sun Devils surprised in 2007. ASU is getting surprised in 2008. The Sun Devils have lost four straight games.
9. UCLA 2-4 "La De Da": Life in LaLa Land hasn't been that great for the Bruins since their opening-game win over the Vols. But when you're in L.A., well, Ringo puts it this way: "La la de da, like que sera sera."
10. Michigan 2-4 "Beaucoups Of Blues": Holy Toledo! The Wolverines have their worst six-game record since 1967 and lost in the Big House to the Utes, Illini and Rockets. But at least the Blue has that win over Bucky.

Waiting list: Illinois (3-3), Miami (3-3), Nebraska (3-3), Wisconsin (3-3).

There isn't a single Big Ten team that deserves to go to a BCS game. Even Penn State, who is clearly the best team in the conference is getting fat playing some of these also-ran programs

And has a big time program ever fallen so far, so fast as Michigan has? :o
