NFL Power Rankings

Sun Dec 07, 2008 7:33 pm

These are some power rankings from docfennes.com. Its an average from all the major power rankings websites, its pretty much the coolest thing ever.
Vikings are ranked 13!

Are you in MN or something? I'm not surprised they're so far back. They're an average team with a few great players.

The Pats and Cowboys behind the Bucs, Falcons and Jets... I would have to say nay.

I would take the fudge packers over the Vikes for sure.

Good thing our defense keeps bailing us out, yeesh Ben has been mediocre or worse this year, no idea what the problem is as the O-line the last few weeks has been relatively stable.

edit: clarification....

Eh, not me. If we only had a quarterback we'd be so much better, too. It's kind of sad.

I was just happy to see the vikings at 13, they started the season 1-3 and were as low as 25. And we are an amazing team with two big holes, a QB and coach.

I feel that the Eagles should be slightly higher, but overall the list looks good.

The week 15 rankings are up, and the Eagles went up 4 spots

I don't get it. The vikings barely beat the lions, and they move up a rank. They played terribly last week.

A win is a win, and the vikings are known for play down for bad teams and up for good teams. If you win you will probably move up or stay the same, if you lose you will probably go down.

I thought the whole point of this kind of ranking is to go beyond the "win is a win" ranking. If it wasn't, we'd just go by team records. The lions being so close to beating the vikings (if they had just taken the "free" field goal, it would have been theirs, all else equal) to me means the vikings played very poorly.

No doubt the vikings did not play a good game. But i don't you can really look back at that field goal and say that they would of won if they would of taken the field goal, because the entire game would of been different. You are right, the rankings are suppose to go beyond records, but they do take into account the records. The vikings have been winning, and when your doing power rankings and a team has won 3 in a row and are 8-5 after a 1-3 start, the team is getting it done.

Also, the rankings are not only influenced by the teams last game, because all teams have bad games.

Anyways, docfennes.com only averages ranking, does not do any ranking themselves. I really don't know all that goes into these rankings.

Wow, the Vikings played a completely different game from last week. Much better basics and play calling.
