That is horrible. Great way to get losers to believe they are somehow empowered.

Competition breeds success. Awarding failure is what got us where we are right now. Fail and you get a prize...

Making people think they have worth is a good way to motivate them and cause self-improvement.
Calling them losers is a good way to make them utterly useless.

They aren't awarding failure. They are giving people a vision of the light at the end of the tunnel. They are giving them hope.
