Post your ZOMGTEHLIONSRTEHSUK stuff here.

I'm sort of annoyed at the packers for costing themselves 2-3 draft slots with a pointless win but seeing this and knowing that several people here are from the Detroit area make me lol

Being the team to lose to Detroit would have been far worse than gaining a few draft picks. Green Bay needs to build themselves in areas outside of the skill positions. They need to make sure Grant is ready before mid season next year and they need to retool their defense. Fix the defense alone and we're talking a playoff team easily.

As for Detroit. Build up the offensive and defensive lines. Maybe draft a quarterback later, would be interesting to see how far Chase Daniel falls... would be awesome to see him air it out to Calvin Johnson.

The Bears did better then I expected this year and really if they would have won today and some how got into the playoffs they would have just lost in the first round.

Lions 0-16 funny to you Ian? Yeah, to me too.

Of course, the implosion known as Brett "INT=TD" Favre is fun to watch as well.

When the announcers started talking about Favre tossing multiple touch downs, TO BOTH TEAMS, well, you know its a good day.

Yet some people still had faith in Brett. Brett Farve has always been an above average quarterback who played so much he could set records. I never consider him one of the all time great quarterbacks. So many more players are infinitely more talented than him, they simply never had the benefit of good looks and that down home feel.

You know what probably sucks the most about it for the team. This year is the 75th anniversary for the team. What a way to celebrate a milestone.

He's out of his prime, for sure, but I would party credit him with green bay's success. He's got some durable staying power and consistency.

As far as the packers not needing the win... Yeah they did. You don't get and keep fans by losing on purpose. You always need to play at the highest level you can.

As far as the Lions... They need to stop drafting wide receivers when they have no QB. IMHO before ANYTHING they need to strengthen BOTH lines (and line coaching!). Even an average running back can do a lot of damage when standing behind a top notch offensive line. Even a lame QB can do well when he has time (just look at the Vikings... our QBs are not great, but they do OK because the offensive line is very good). A great QB is going to suck if he has no time and gets beat up a lot. The most bang for your buck on defense is on the line, too.

What the hell? Miami got their division... after winning 1 game last year. The Lions could do the same!

If Ford had any brains, he'd fire the entire front office and coaching staff and start over. Pick up Parcells when he leaves Miami or go after Pioli.

Instead, he promoted two of Millen's underlings to run the show. Expect more of the same, Lions fans. Sure, much of the coaching staff is gone, but the front office needs to go as well.
Being right doesn't matter if no one listens.

Its OK though. The Vikes are going to get a mud hole stomped next weekend by the Eagles anyway. If they forced 3 fumbles yesterday on Dallas, I figure T-Jack and Peterson should combine for what? 8 fumbles against the Philly D? Dawkins is looking like he shed 10 years off his age in the past 2 months.

The announcer said peterson wasn't doing well in the fumble department. I thought he was doing GREAT! the fumble department hasn't seen this kind of production in a LONG time.

I think it's sad that the vikes don't have something basic like not fumbling down. They're probably working a lot on it, when they could have their time better spent elsewhere.

Just the way it shoulda been.
And lest we forget.
All the hand wringing when Green Bay traded Brett.
Let's look at the numbers:

Passing Comp Att Yds TD Int QBRat
B. Favre 343 522 3472 22 22 81.0
A. Rodgers 341 536 4038 28 13 93.8

Rodgers didn't loose a lot of those games, his defense did.

Those numbers aren't comparable. Different offensive lines give the QB differing amounts of time, etc. I think Favre would have been better in GB. He didn't do as poorly as I thought he would in NY.

Didn't do as poorly? He ruined a playoff bound team. Were you expecting him to have a 5.3 passer rating the entire year instead of just over a 3 game span? Rodger's had numbers comparable to some of the very best of Favre's seasons. Rodger's did that in his first season with the team, with a running back who didn't show up till the end (and just barely then) and a defense who cost them A LOT of games. The Packers are a good team who were beat by their defense. Replace Rodgers' with Favre and you have a worse team. Favre isn't magic, he's a quarterback who has been forever hyped up more than he could deliver. He cost Mangini his job. I didn't use to dislike Favre this much, but when a inferior quarterback starts taking over records (Marino was a massively more talented quarterback who never had a running game to count on or even help) and ruined the legacy he could have had. Now he just cost someone their job...

Because the Jets were in a tough division... yeah right. Look at the scheduling this year, the AFC East played the AFC and NFC West (you know, the two worst divisions... in history possibly). The Jets suffered loses from the horrible Oakland Raiders and the laughable Broncos defense who held Brett to a 60.9 passer rating. Please, Aaron Rodgers put up numbers equal to the leagues likely MVP (Manning). Swap defenses and guess who has the winning reccord?

Wow Green Bay beat the 0-16 Lions twice! What a rough schedule. They went 6-10. While the Jets went 9-7 not to mention wins against the Patriots, Miami and Tenn. I bet if they swapped schedules GB would have been 4-12 and the Jets would be in the Playoffs (especially given the 2 free wins in Detroit).

No Rodgers did not put up Peyton Manning numbers, maybe Eli but .... Meh. I'd say he's a middle of the road QB and 6-10 is what he's worth.

....

Have you ever heard of facts? Rodgers threw one more TD, but one more interception than Peyton. He threw for more yards and had virtually equal passer rating. Those are the same numbers. Stop making stuff up, fact is fact. The Packers also had the most loses by 7 points in a very long time. Again, defense. But what the hey, making stuff up is fun!

If Rodgers is a middle of the road quarterback then Favre is even worse than I thought...

The Lions are 0-16. THIS IS GREAT!!! :D

Now they should have a NEW Goal for futility: 0-27....... or better yet 0-32. Why? Ask the 1976-77 Buccaneers why.

The real reason I would love to see the Lions this bad: it would force William Clay Ford Sr. to sell the team to a new owner who likes wins more than profits. Yes, Oakland needs that too, but the Lions are far more desperate and deserving of new ownership.

Man DOWN, Detroit. 0-32 is perfectly within your declawed, toothless grasp.

The only time Rodgers will see the Hall of Fame is by visiting like everyone else. He can visit the Favre exhibit.

Look I don't think he's that bad. I just think Farve would have given GB a better season. But it's all water under the bridge now. They had to do something and it bit em in the butt. I probably would have made the same decision....maybe.

I'm already looking forward to next season.

As for the Playoffs...... I really don't know who to cheer for. Maybe Miami.

What I know is that Favre had 6 fewer TD's and 9 more INT's than Rodgers.
What I know is that the Jets started 8-3 and were a "lock" for the play offs until Favre led them 1-4 in their last five.
What I think is that Detroit doesn't go 0-16, they win their last game, if Favre was playing for Green Bay.
What I know is that now Favre can jerk around the Jets as to whether he's coming coming back like he did to the Packers for all those years.
