No respect for Canada

I was watching a sports show on a Buffalo TV station because they were talking about the upcoming Winter Classic hockey game. These morons were bragging about how they "started the tradition" of the now annual outdoor hockey game. Did these morons forget that the first game that started this tradition was played the year before in Edmonton. Last I checked that was in Canada. Sure they called it the Heritage Classic, but it still doesn't change the fact that it was started up here. I see/hear that so much when watching/listening to shows from Buffalo. This pisses me off the way they just ignore facts to make themselves look better than they are.

Sorry...just had to rant.

Oh and I get to celebrate the new year on the road as I travel back from Ottawa (Kanata actually). I've got tickets to go see the Canada vs. USA WJHC game. The game starts at 7:30pm, so we're leaving here at about noon, getting a bite to eat, watching the game, get home. I figure I should be home by 4am. I'm really excited.

WTF. I thought this was going to be at Soldier Field.

Either way, this is one Hockey game that I would actually pay to go see. However, the timing was just terrible for me. Otherwise I just might have tried for tickets.

This would have been another one

I do find that sort of insulting as if things Canada does first just 'don't count'.

I bought the entire booklet for the world juniors, and have only seen 3 games...non of them we all that great either. Saw Canada versus Kazakstan, Canada versus Czech republic, and Katakstan versus Germany...I missed the one close-ish game Canada played against Germany.

I entered my name in for some tickets that my work was raffling off, but sadly didn't get any. The person beside me got tickets to the Canada-Kazakhstan game though.

The big game though will be against the US. I just hope Canada hasn't become cocky not really having had a challenge yet...

But Canada has many more curling sheets than France.

Oh, so no wonder they don't count. I just like everything being explained.

Er... only that part called Quebec is like France, so only that part does not count.

BTW, nice game Canada vs USA!

Just got back from the game. (140kp/h most of the way cuts quite a bit of time off traveling) I think my heart is still going 1000 bpm!!! What a game to see!!!

The excitement for the entire game was off the chart. Even when we were down 3-0 we were still cheering our guys on. Man was that exciting to be there for such a fantastic game. There were some calls against the US that shouldn't have been called (running the goalie in the 3rd for example) and some that were missed against us (too many men in the 2nd) but because of the chippiness of the game it looked like the refs were watching the players to make sure nothing got out of hand that they made a few wrong calls.

Oh and the guy from the US who stuck his stick out while Canada was skating by was number 23 (or 22) I think. That guy should be thrown out of the tournament for doing something as stupid as that.

Now I gotta try and get some sleep. Probably have to take sleeping pill to calm me down.
