I dunno, Clausen looked GOOD. The offense was walking up and down the field all day. The Irish D let them down big time playing that prevent D. Its been said 1000 times, the only thing prevent D does is prevent you from holding the lead.

As for Ohio State, choking in a big game? Who'da thought? </psualum>

Eh, I think ND should drop from the top 25 and Michigan should be voted in. WTF was Charlie thinking calling 2 pass plays while he should have been eating the clock. That saved Michigan 2 timeouts to use at the end.

I'm not the biggest Ohio fan...cuz they smell like poo... :P I figured USC would win....but Ohio is a good team and will probably remain in the top 25 (at least) all season. I don't know if any Big Ten team can beat USC.

Although much like last year, I'm sure we will hear the term "upset" used a billion times. Maybe those games would not be so upsetting, if the ranking did not suck so bad.

Charlie is trying to make Jimmy Clausen a hero and show that he can recruit and bring up his own QBs, and not just coach up other people's choices (Tom Brady, Brady Quinn, etc). He's also trying to make it look like the previous 2 years were needed to bring Clausen along to current 'awesome' status. Just covering his own ass is really all.

From what I saw Clausen played well. I just read that Charlie called the pass plays because his main RB was hurt and his backup was getting stuffed. Stupid excuse as even getting stuffed would have forced Michigan to use up its time outs. Not to mention Charlie loves the screen pass which could have served both purposes. (less chance of being incomplete and or intercepted).

Ah well. Time to watch some NFL now. 8)

Looks like I was right.

Notre Dame knocked out of Top 25

After a season on the outs, Michigan is back in the AP Top 25.

Bam!

Here's to hoping MSU kicks thier butts next weekend (doubtful, but it could happen).

Although other than USC, Not-her-Dame has an extremely weak schedule.

Go Mountain West!

Big Wyoming fan here... been in the wilderness for too many years, but I think we are building towards something pretty nice. We stuff Texas up for the entire first half... but they just wore us down yesterday. Such a deep team, so many good athletes...

Anyway, just happy our conference is on the up and up.

Michigan spanks their first opponent (who was actually pretty good, Western Michigan are not pushovers) and then beat the #18 team in the country and they're only #25? That's a lot more than most of the other teams in the top 25 can say. I know that doesn't instantly make us one of the top teams in the country but I would have though we would still end up around 20. Hopefully we can move further up in the next few weeks.

That was the sloppiest looking I have ever seen the Huskers. Ever.
The defense played good. The offense was just horrible except for Helu. Zac Lee can't throw for ****. probably partly nerves...

V Tech is overrated.
Nebraska is overrated.

Miami is going to kick V Tech in the nuts unless V Tech learns how to play before next week.

Huskers are in dire need of practice. Soooo sloppy. :(

Would have been unfair to have won even though it was heartbreaking because the two big incorrect calls by the officials were in Nebraskas favor.. and both made a big difference.

Nice to see USC go down.

At least Nebraska has Helu and Henery and a defense.
Now if Zac Lee could learn how to throw and not be so impatient and so sucky.
... and our line could learn how to not hold.

Callahan destroyed Nebraska. We're better now even on our sloppy days.

Why is it that this year seems to be repeating last year? USC beats OSU, then goes on to lose to nobody. What. The. Hell. Though I think that if we had to play Aaron Corp or whatever his name is, we probably would've won against USC. Barkley is much better.

USC guilty of playing to the level of their opponents, maybe? At least OSU came out and dominated Toledo as they should instead of having a big let down after the loss.

For the last few years, USC hast lost to teams we just shouldn't have. It's driving me nuts every single time. Ugh.

But this loss wasn't about playing down to Washington's level. We had Corp starting his first game, but he just did not seem to have any confidence at all once Washington stacked the box and forced him to throw. I don't think the coaches did him any favors by not letting him know he'd be starting until the day of the game. That was the worst QB output I've seen out of a Trojan QB in a very long time. And to think he was named our started before the season started, but lost the job because he broke a bone during practice.

Plus the 3 fumbles and dumb penalties, and yeah, you're cruising for a bruising. I guess it didn't help our best safety was out with a sprained MCL.

This game made Sarkisian look like a genius, and I hated the guy when he was with USC. haha. d'oh.

Ah well, its done and over. There's plenty of football left to play.

It is great to see my sooners in the top 10 again even after that loss to BYU (and the subsequent loss of BYU to FSU). We have this week off, then Miami U next week. THAT will be the test for both teams!

This is the year more than any other where people thought USC was going to get toppled by Cal in the Pac-10. Only Cal has a tendency to blow it big in games they should win as well. Only they don't recover after a bad loss. If they get by Oregon in Oregon it will be a hell of a game in Berkeley.

I look at teams like Notre Dame and Nebraska with extremely easy schedules and then I look at Miami's schedule.... Now that's a tough schedule 5 ranked teams, 4 of which are in the first 4 weeks. :o

I am a huge UDUB Husky fan and was at the game on Saturday where they downed former #3 USC. I am surprised to see my Dawgs crack the top 25 so soon though. One season removed from 0-12 their start to this season is nothing less than incredible and, practically unfathomable. I just hope everyone in the country, and especially Husky Nation, keeps their heads on straight and keeps their expectations reasonable.

I prefer to look at it this way: the Nebraska offense looked sloppy because Virginia Tech has an exceptional defense, and our stadium is arguably the most intimidating in the US. And Nebraska only looked good on defense because Virginia Tech has a particularly poor offense thus far. Nebraska played better than the last time they played VT, though, and IMO.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that our fans were much more of a factor when Nebraska was on offense than Bo had hoped. Hard to run audibles when the players can't hear the QB.
