Formula 1 2010 Mini League

Postposted on Wed Feb 10, 2010 3:50 pm

Hope you're all as excited as I am about this season, it seems to be getting better year on year.

I'm definately going to go for my 3rd straight (Techreport) F1 World Championship!

Really hard to tell who's where from the testing so far, but considering Red Bull missed the first few tests, they were pretty quick on their first outing, with limited running and in the wet.

Keep checking back here, I'll give details on how to join the league as soon as it opens!

I got an email from them saying that our user IDs are still valid (your password is in the email too beware). So all we need is a league and for those 2 new teams to sign their drivers and we can start speculating!

notfred and others are you guys going to join us this time?

Picking a lineup is painful!! So many driver switches and new teams have me scratching my head. Also, when using the drop down boxes, it doesn't tell you the prices of the drivers or constructors. I had to break out the old pen and paper to get the costs figured out. Anyways, my username is thill9. Good luck everyone!

Just over the drop-down boxes for the two constructors there's off/on buttons for costs. They'll show in a table off to the right.

Heh, that would have made it a lot easier had I noticed that. Nonetheless, anyone going to take Jarno Trulli?

This season's "practice session" should be quite interesting.

Create a team and let SithSkies know your team name, then join us for the Formula One season. Here in the US, that means getting up at O-dark-thirty on Sunday AM to watch the race on Speed TV. Back in the Mansell/Prost/Senna days (mid-'80s) a local bar owner was a F1 geek so there'd always be a small crowd at his bar at 8AM Sunday AM watching the epic battles of Williams (in the blue/yellow Canon livery) against McClaren (in the Marlboro Red livery).

Since my father is now the manager at the Yas Marina track in Abu Dhabi, I might as well hop in on this.

Invite Corrado please.

Hmm, well you're not showing up.

If you go to 'manage mini leagues' and enter the code: bztdy

You should join the league

I haven't selected my team yet (still trying to wait and see who they sign for the remaining 2 teams), so did I get included yet? I have the old user ID.

Thanks Flying Fox for the heads up, notfreds nutters are in for this year. I like the driver costs, some really undervalued drivers in that mix (I hope!). It's going to be an interesting season on the track anyway regardless of how will my fantasy team does.

And don't forget the interest component, just loading with points scoring drivers is not enough, as seen from last year's results.

Fox, you can't be included until you have created your team. You may as well use the code I provided and enter yourself when you're ready!

Remember you can change your team endlessly from now until the 3rd race

That's going to be a much more difficult route to the top than last year, IMO.

Yeah, Brawn/Mercedes and Red Bull are not cheap anymore. Unless Williams and/or Sauber surprise the whole field by scoring podiums, it is going to be hard to get ahead.

I'm in! Hopefully I can bust out of the mid pack this year.

I am not sure that the ban on re-fuelling will change much, other than faster pit-stops and continuously declining lap times.
