Both of today's games, Germany - England and Arg - Mex, were influenced by huge referee mistakes.
It's sad to see that, when there is so much technology around.

Thats very likely to happen! It would be a repeat of the 1974 World Cup final (except it was West Germany that time). And If Germany does go on to win this one, it would be a fantastic achievement...beating England, Argentina, Spain and Holland on the way to victory would be simply superb!

Germany lost
Spain were the better team on the day but I expected Germany to put up a better performance...they were strangely off-color.

Whoever wins now, it will be their first World Cup win. Spain would be favorites but I'll be rooting for the Netherlands...their third time in the final, hope they get it right this time.

I think De Jong has played too much Mortal Kombat. He actually thought he was Liu Kang when he went after Alonso. That should have been, without a doubt, a red card. However, the Netherlands physicality has really broken up Spain's rhythm.

Is it just me, or is soccer 99.9% fail? Would we (Americans) watch baseball, basketball, or american football if nearly every at-bat, shot attempt, or pass attempt was a failure? Uggh.

I'm quite looking forward to the next WC in Brazil, hopefully it'll be all guns blazing from everyone. Be interesting to see if they make any changes by way of using more technology for offside rules and challenges etc like is being called for...
