Boo-yeah. Up 3-0 in a series I thought would be much more difficult and a chance for a sweep on home ice. Go Bruins!!

This has been a brutal series. First my favorite team (Senators) go down in a flaming ball and now my second favorite team (Penguins) are flaming out even harder! Not good!

Hmmm...My Sens waste the Canadians, the Pens waste the Sens, the Bruins waste the Pens...Blackhawks waste the Bruins? I could live with that.

After last night the 'Hawks have a fight on their hands. Game 4 will be telling.

That said, I still love Original Six Cup finals. Oh, and the Pens didn't flame out tonight at all. Great game from both sides that could have been won by either, as in Horton's laser off the post near the end of regulation [EDIT: In 1st OT]. It was the kind of game where if you were there you'd be really unhappy about the rule cutting off beer sales at the drop of the puck for the 3rd period.

I'll be damned. Even in the pure Original Six era the Hawks and Bruins never met for the Cup. Not only do we have an Original Six final, we have a first-time Original Six final. Who'd a thunk?

EDIT: This Final will go a long way to keeping my mind off more temporal issues (see R&P, and keep it there). I'll gladly say I'm rooting for the Bruins but I'm really wanting to see a Don Cherry-style 7-game series that draws TV viewers back to hockey, and will always be happy when an Original Six team skates the Cup. NBC is showing them all on the mothership in prime time, so here's hoping. Just wish Comcast here carried CBC in HD (not likely since they now own NBC).

It should be some really good hockey. 'Hawks are more skilled than the Bruins, but unlike the Penguins, they can bring some toughness. And Toews can bring a bit of a mean streak (unlike Crosby). Bruins are a bit more physical. I think it'll be a really close series. Here's hoping Blackhawks take it in 7.

Looking good. Two more and they can skate the Cup at home. Hawks power play is just lost against these Bruins.

EDIT: For the 2 or 3 people that seem to care about the Cup 'round here.

I know where he'll be on August 17th. With any luck my big goofy grin, polo tie-dye, boonie hat, and potato cannon will all be dressed somehow in victorious Bruins colors. If you really want to lard it on (assuming a Bruins victory), take the pics and PM me. I'd be more than happy to bring them to BBQ.

Well, this didn't work out too well for Chicago tonight.

As much as the Bruins are a very big rival of my Senators, there are many people on that organization who bring the cup to Ottawa if they win (Chris Kelly, Claude Julian, Peter Chillarili and I think a few others). And considering the amount of ex-Ottawa Senators on that team...

Toews has vanished. Get his ass on a milk carton.

So has the Hawks power play. Hell the whole offense is MIA.

Crawford has done all he can. He can't do everything.

Don't count them out yet. They had a bit of a problem with Detroit and they managed to bounce back. However, the Bruins have been playing steady and consitently and are playing a complete game. They are the better team without a doubt after 3 games.

Yep, as good as Crawford is, you have to get a minimum of 1 goal to win a game. He can't do that.

Empty-net. Remember, the goalie cannot carry the puck across the red line. Ask Patrick Roy about that.

Oh Roy, will you never learn?

I'm a transplant. My Penns already shot themselves in the foot this year. However, I was around for the 2000 Avs cup and allstars host here in Denver and that was pretty cool. Roy was fun to watch; what a goon.

That was a pretty crazy game. 11 goals scored. Wow.

This series so far has had a little bit of everything. Longest overtime, most goals scored, wonder what game 5 will bring?

Agreed. Best Cup I've watched in many a year. Whoever wins will be a worthy champion.

I watched (well, listened to mostly, since most of my life the Hawks weren't on TV) hockey since 5th grade. I had season tickets for two years in the late 80's. I have never seen a game end like that, especially one that clinched a Cup. Insane.

I unfortunately missed it (was playing hockey myself), but once we got back to the locker room we were all checking our phones.

But what a series. It could have gone either way so many times.
