The first time I ever played I missed the draft and hardly swapped any players and ended up winning purely through dumb luck.

The real problem for everybody else is the delay on the autopick, though it didn't seem to be nearly as bad this year (perhaps because there was only one autopick, perhaps because Yahoo improved things?)

Borrowed computer weirdness, double-post, never mind.

I looked, and it's not a setting I can change. If I could, I'd have autopicks done within 10 seconds or so.

I like it. It keeps people from stashing guys, and it lets some of the bad teams have a prayer to maybe get a good player off waivers when someone can't keep a hurt guy.

OTOH its killing me right now. I got 5 DL guys, had to cut Jered Weaver

I agree. Can't make things too easy.

Wow, I thought I had it rough losing one of the early HR leaders and a top-10 AVG guy. Not sure you're going to miss Weaver, though: his FB velocity has been on a downward trend for a couple of years now and he seemed to be coming apart the end of last season.

If you're a T-Mobile customer, the full version of MLB At Bat 13 for iPhone and Android is free until June 30. Just download the free version, turn off wifi (so you connect via 3G or LTE), and then fire up the app. It sees you're on T-Mobile and gives you the option of redeeming the full-fat version with an MLB.com account. Live gameday audio and one game live video feed per day for free.

Not sure if this applies to T-Mobile prepaid or just to post-paid. I'm post-paid, so it just worked for me.

Andrew McCutchen has been struggling and Hanley Ramirez has been playing well so I sat McCutchen. So of course today he GOES OFF. :x

Dude, before you do that you should always check the opponent. He was playing against the Mariners. Always pick against the Mariners (unless Felix or 'kuma are pitching)

The boys hit .151 yesterday and I figured it couldn't get much worse.

They hit .083 (2-24) today

Is there something wrong with Y! right now? I am not seeing any of yesterday's stats in the totals. Same with my opponent.

Same here. Assumption is that Yahoo went all pear-shaped last night.

Kinda hoping it ends this way; I could stand beating you 10-3.

Oh, now it's showing 11-1. Nevermind, I'll take this.

A-Rod sits out 2014.

This life-long Yankee fan (sorry, it was inherited) would have been happier with a Pete Rose conclusion. Guy's been team cancer since he arrived.

He'll sue, if he hasn't already. The judge will issue a stay on the suspension and he'll play in 2014

He has, less then 48 hours after the decision was announced (he is suing MLB and the MLBPA). It is not likely that he will prevail (or that the judge will issue a stay) since the courts have been loathe to interfere in collectively bargained matters.

He also claims he is going to Spring Training, which his suspension does not explicitly cover. But that is up to the Yankees. I think that will be highly unlikely.

Wow, a reasonable Yankee fan! I got into an argument with some guys last year (one baseball fan, two knew nothing about baseball) that claimed Mr. Rodriguez was worth every penny of that ~$300 million contract to the Yankees.

For a judge to stay on the suspension, he has to prove that the system was corrupt. There's not a lot of precedent of a court overturning a collectively-bargained and arbitrated decision like that. There's a ton of good reading at Hardball Talk:
