Very excited about this. I haven't had any issues with the new set-up, except the beige background keeps me thinking I'm posting somewhere else. Eagerly looking forward to TR blue.

Some of us got a preview and the blue is not the old blue. So be warned. Of course there is room for change.

Well, it might not be the old blue, but it's definitely the oldest blue. It's the color of the dark blue theme that Firefox borked and could never properly handle.
What we have today is way too much pluribus and not enough unum.

The profile area seems a tad too wide to me. IMO it doesn't need to dynamically grow like it does and should really be fixed-width. Icon-wrapping is far less objectionable than being too wide.

Is anyone else experiencing problems with the newposts search? The forums run fine, other searches (including egosearch and other "special" searches) run fine, but the newposts search won't load for me. The page just sits there and eventually times out. It's been happening on and off all day long.

Score. don't know why, but my Firefox never had a problem with the old old TR blue (dark blue). Although I do know of the blue Flying Fox is referring to, as all of my other family members computers displayed the "old" blue (the lighter blue).
Either way, yay for blue.

Not here. Was it on multiple sessions/browsers/computers? Did you try clearing cache?

I agree. The profile area should be narrower not wider. Shrink the "Join Date" info by displaying just dd mmm, yyyy -- we don't need the time or day of week -- and then make the profile no wider than that. I don't see what's wrong with two lines of icons if it comes to that. Most posts worth reading are more than a couple of lines long so the added vertical space isn't a big deal (particularly in light of all the other vertical bloat going on in the new design). The dynamic growing/shrinking might make it harder to get a consistent margin between that and the post body at narrower widths.

The date display is user-controlled. It shows up however you have your date prefs set.

Unfortunately, I want to know the exact minute a comment was posted. I don't want to know the exact minute a user joined TR.

I don't know why, but I'm having trouble using the ordered list function.

Here's
what
I
get
Am I doing something wrong, or is this feature not really implemented?

Take the equal sign out:

 • Here's
 • what
 • I
 • get

If you take the equal sign out, you don't have an ordered list. For an ordered list, you need to specify numbers or letters like so:

Here's
what
I
get
1. Here's
 2. what
 3. I
 4. get

Here's
what
I
get
1. Here's
 2. what
 3. I
 4. get
It looks like it doesn't matter which letters or numbers you specify.

Cut the "=" and you will be unordered list. Put "list=1" and you get numbered ordered list.

So...why does the forum prevent you from quoting more than three posters? That kind of sucks. Can we have a more reasonable limit? Say, six?

Given the glee ISTR Kevin exhibiting over this feature, I'd not hold out much hope.

I agree with the current limitation as it is. I don't need to reread six posts. Most people don't take the time to summarize the quote either, so there ends up being a long run of nested quotes before actually getting to what the current poster is going to say. Very annoying.

Besides, you're able to quote other posts while writing your own, so what's the big deal.

What it should do is give the option to cut out the deeper quotes instead of making you hunt through to find them.

You can quote more than three posters, you just can't have more than 3 nested quotes. I thought 3 was pretty reasonable (it was even the phpBB 3 default).

Yeah, that would be pretty slick.

It's new, as in it came with phpBB3. Just scroll down to the "TOPIC REVIEW" section of the "POST A REPLY" page, and you'll see the quote buttons next to all of the posts.

Gah I just lost a long reply to the Sonic thread because of the stupd 'review your post thing' because I had already clicked the tab. I ctrl-w to the next tab as soon as I see that the page was uploaded and the next one starts loading. It's going to take me awhile to get used to that 'feature'. Are you sure there's no way to turn it off?
