it will work but save yourself the money and get a 128 meg card . it should be a crime to sell a pci video card with 256 megs of memory on it . http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6814102522 here is the same radeon 9250 but with 128 megs of memory instead of 256 . there is going to be almost zero performance difference in the two of them .

Isn't Inspiron a laptop? Or is it both lappy and desktop?

I think TheGleek is selling one of those Radeon 9250 PCI cards:

For what it's worth.

What are you wanting to do with the new card that you currently cannot do with the on-board video?

Seriously, a larger upgrade may be more worthwhile than adding more pieces that are limited by the motherboard.

P.S.: Are you certain that it isn't a Dimension 2350 with the Intel i845GL chipset?

Is there a chance that a new socket-478 motherboard based on the i915 chipset with a PCI-express X16 slot could replace your existing motherboard? There are many inexpensive PCI-Express X16 video cards available that perform much better than any PCI video card.
