I will be purchasing everything through NCIX Canada, heres the complete system:

I can not go any higher with my budget, wifes perogative. My main question is about the ram and video cards. But any comments/tweaks are appreciated.

1) Is this ram the best suited to getting the proc up to ~4800 speeds without additional ram coolers(or price)

2)Should I wait for ATI to release its next volley before settling on this card?

I am upgrading from a barton 2500, 1 gig crud ram, 9600xt...

I forgot to add that I will be using this system for scientific/gaming/general use, and I wish it to last me 2 years.

I don't think I'd wait on ATi if you want this in the near future; you could be waiting a *very* long time.

2 years? heck yeah! You got dual core, you got 2 extra slots for RAM, you can slap in another video card as necessary, and 250GB is a LOT of pr0n. Hey if that was in my budget (I suppose I could, but I don't need it...) I'd get it.

Looks good to me,my only question is why is the X2 3800 460bucks?
Is it canadien?

Thanks for the input all, I needed a quick once-over before I ordered. It should be arriving in about 1.5 weeks.

Well, I phoned them it still hasn't shipped today
I cancelled the order, thet were waiting on the ram, but they couldn't warranty it as a system without the ram. I am not going to wait a month for them to finish. I am pretty disappointed, NCIX gave me no hassle though.
