As far as your question goes, I think that depends on how you intend to use the system. Will you load it up with hard drives? In that case the second would be a better bet with that 7th SATA port. Do you see yourself maxing the board out with video cards? Then the 1st, with the extra PCIe X16 slot would be good.

I'm personally a fan of Corsair RAM for my own builds, and Crucial for business-critical builds.
