Hey guys  Just wanted to ask you opinions on this PC I'm building for a friend. It's a little bit similar to mine, with some exceptions thanks for the current price drops and some new stuff on the market. Purpose of gaming at 1920x1080 resolution, just gaming really :)

It goes like this:

Processor: i5 2500K
Motherboard: Asus P8Z68 V
Memory: Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz 2x4Gb
Graphic Card: Asus GTX560Ti DirectCu II
SSD: Corsair Force 3 90Gb
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 1Tb
PSU: Corsair TX-750W V2
Case: Coolermaster CM-690 II
Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus
DVD Burner: Samsung SH-223L Lightscribe

Solid build?

Some questions...

Is the case and motherboard a good choice to future SLI with another GTX560Ti?
Is the CPU cooler suficient for a modest overclock, say 4.0-4.2Ghz range?
Should I apply some more cooling, like a side panel fan for the GPU at the moment of planing SLI?

Thanks for reading :)

Did you see today's deal on a Radeon HD6950 at Amazon.com?

This PSU is fine for SLI. You could probably get by with a good 650-watt unit for less.

Have you looked at Antec cases? They're generally a bit nicer to work in than the CoolerMaster cases that I've used.

Did you consider Blu-ray?

Thank you for your feedback JAE :)

I'm building the PC at a small shop near home, it has good prices, but here in Portugal, Radeons 6950 don't have such a tight price related to the GTX560Ti as in US. I know the AMD card is more powerful, but it's 30-40 Euro more expensive that most Nvidias. Beside that point, I'm building with a GTX560Ti because I own one, and as new generations of cards come, I can use mine or his to SLI one of our machines and have a nice bump in performance, so just one of us has to buy a new card :P

So I wonder, can I future SLI with a MSI and an Asus GTX560Ti?

(The PSU, maybe the Corsair TX-650 V2 is enough for SLI those?)
Just checked Corsair page, this PSU only as 2 PCI connectors :( Do you have another suggestion please?

I own the Antec One Hundred case and I'm very pleased with it :) Do you have any other suggestions?

Bluray isn't necessary really...

Thank you for you time :)

Allright then, I've ditched the CM-690 for a HAF 912 Plus and sticked with the TX-750 for futureproofing

It's been ordered :D

Cheers
