Can you order from http://www.directron.com ?

You'll want a Socket-AM3+ motherboard for compatibility with Bulldozer processors.
$100 Asus M5A97
http://www.amazon.com/Asus-Socket-Cross ... 0058G65UU/

Since we know that Bulldozer is coming very soon, you probably don't want to spend $170 for a Thuban processor this week. Consider a less expensive Athlon II X3 455 or a Phenom II X4 955 as a placeholder if you cannot wait until Bulldozer appears.

Add 2x4 GiB of PC3-12800 memory.

There's no reason to spend that much on an old GeForce GTX460 when you can get a GeForce GTX560/GTX560Ti or a Radeon HD6850/HD6870.

The 1TB Samsung Spinpoint F3 is a good hard-drive for $60.

A combination Blu-ray reader / DVD burner drive is a good choice for another $60.

Take a look at the Antec Three Hundred case.

That's a good price on the Corsair TX650 power supply.

You'll want Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM.

hey
thanks for the suggestions.

Info on Bulldozers seems to be a little vague, Release date mostly pricing info looks promising.
I guess its worth the wait if it'll come out in 1~3 weeks from now.

What is your friend going to use this computer for? Gaming? If it's just web browsing/word processing etc, you can get by with a much cheaper system.

Have you checked out the System Guide? The Econobox could give you some ideas.
