ABIT Fatality Build

Thu May 17, 2012 7:51 pm

I have an AN8 ABIT Fatality board and I am trying to build a system for my dad...

Every time I get this error - Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu.

The drive is visible - I can see it in the BIOS, I can see it in the intall window...but no matter what settings I pick (and no matter what hard drive I use) I get that error. I am pulling my hair out ... this is driving me nuts.

Yes, I am aware that ABIT is out of bidness... but this is what I have to work with and it will be a superior upgrade for dad, who only plays WoW... Any ideas from the super gerbils out there will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

What kind of drive? Is it known to work? Can you test it in another rig?

Figured it out. I had 3... yes... 3 faulty cables... once I had a good one... it all worked. Thanks for looking.
