8GB is not really necessary for this build. Even TR's Econobox gaming computer only uses 4GB. Yes, 8GB is relatively cheap, but I would rather see you spend the extra $20 on a better quality case/PSU.
You're right, sometimes we can become so enticed with cheap products and end up paying a high price for it, better to just buy something you know will have quality, I'm thinking anything from Coolermaster would be alright, no? Something like this:

As for memory, My thinking was "come on memory is so cheap, why not go full 8GB", I think I forget that this build is not really for me I guess, 4GB should be more than good enough.
PS. How do I calculate the capacity of the PSU?
