6) Your current CPU is roughly equal to the Pentium G2120 in this table. Best bang for your buck would be an i5-3470. Since you have an H77 mobo, "K-series" CPUs have no appeal since your mobo won't be able to adjust the multiplier. No aftermarket HSF required if you're not overclocking.
7) I wouldn't trust that 500W OEM PSU with a GTX780. I would say max that PSU will run safely will be a 7950/GTX 660Ti. 450W recommended PSU for a 7950/660Ti and roughly 260W system power draw.
8 ) The 8GB of RAM you have should be sufficient.
