RAM is cheap these days. No GPU this time - HD4600 is faster than my current 7600GS anyway and more than enough for my favourite roguelikes My current PSU (Chieftec 450W) seems to be running fine but considering it's age I feel better retiring it. I pick Corsair for the 4 SATA plugs.
This will be my first SSD. I didn't want to buy one for my old machine with old SATA controller, and the RAID 0 was running fine. I have actually a mixed RAID setup, 20 GB RAID 0 for / and rest in RAID 1 for /home. Moving form 20 GB to 120 GB for / gives me hell lot of over-provisioning so I think I move non-critical parts of /home too.
From the 6 years perspective I think I will get ~6x more performance at ~2x less power consumption for exactly the same price so the progress is nice. Survivors from the old box, PSU, CPU, GPU & RAM will be scavenged by my brother. Sound Blaster Audigy PCI stays with me.
