Newegg has the Skyhawk 520 powersupply on sale for $29.99 + $6.99 s/h. This is the power supply in my box, its modular and it took care of my stability problems I was having with my NF4 board:

Seems like a decent buy if its a good one. Cant find any specs on the rails and teh link to their site isnt working...whats the rated 12v rails on this supply?

Got a loaded system with Athlon64 3000+ 80 gig Maxtor,64 meg Nvidia agp 8x, Soundblaster LIVE! Prolink PlayTV pro card, Kworld video capture card,and neon and colorful LED lighting (blue LEDs in the PSU go great with what I have)as well as 3 Case fans, one 120MM and two 80MM and this power supply runs like a champ! Recommend to anyone needing POWER to spare!

Ya I'd bet he could run 2 of his systems of that power supply

Did a bit of checking and the rails are 18A and 16A respectively, which seems to be more than enough to run a system..on that forum farther down there seem to be more than a couple who are happy with it..looks like it would be ok *shrugs*

My question is: Is it quiet?

Don't really know, I've got a stock cpu fan and a 120mm making some noise. I am pretty sure it is a thermal control fan so ymmv.

Yes, please sell me something that will fry the insides of my computer. Sometimes there's such a thing as Too Cheap. I wouldn't trust my system to it.

Thermaltake Silent Purepower PSU's are $58 at the egg. ($2 cheaper than the Skyhawk one) The price in this case doesn't mean it's cheap......it's the fact that it's not one of the big names in PSU's.

Thermaltake overcame that hurdle a couple of years ago and now they are one of the best producers of PSU's now. My guess is SKyhawk is trying to get in the game too.

Ive got 5 thermaltakes in my systems..and they perform flawlessly...for teh money they are hard to beat

I am a fan of Thermaltake (I've got one waiting for my next system) but it was a Thermaltake (polo 410) that crapped out trying to run my dfi mb.

I'm a middle of the road guy on powersupplies. I don't understand people who run their $1000 system off of the powersupply that came with their $20 case but I'm too cheap to spend $100, $150 on a powersupply myself.

The skyhawk got rid of the problems I was having. Its been running without a glitch for about 6 months. Seems like its a steal for $37. I am not promising eternal happiness if you buy this powersupply.
