25% off Dell Ultrasharp U3011

Fri May 13, 2011 2:37 pm

It's going through Dell Small Business.

Coupon code: PJK$HL8JBWVHD7

Takes 25% off the $1499 price.

Brings it down to 1124.25 before tax (if applicable)!

Coupon went live on expires on 5/11, EXPIRES 5/18. So far, seems to have a 100% success rate.

EDIT: Oh, there's currently free 3-5 day shipping going on too (for all orders about $149, I think this qualifies)

...

I thought about it for about 2 seconds. Guilted over possibly jumping on this for about 5 minutes. Then I pulled the trigger. Well, there goes my budget for May, but since it was already counted in my budget for my September build, I figured why the frack not?

That's why God made credit cards, right? :)

It was 1099 shipped for most of the week before black friday last year, did you miss that in your post-sept budget? :P

I have to say, for this sort of visual work, my crazy-insane desktop resolution of 3760x1600 has proven to be a big help to my productivity. That's the result of a 30" display next to a 20" one in portrait mode. I am, for now, wholly contented with this setup.

The 3007WFP is "only" a 30" diagonal screen, but it is the single most amazing display I believe I've ever seen. At 2560x1600, it's over four megapixels--twice the definition of a 1920x1080 monitor. Pixels on it are no larger than on a 20" LCD like the Dell 2001FP, but there's simply more screen real estate. If you're strictly looking for a computer display and not a console display/TV, I'd humbly submit that the 3007WFP is worth the extra money.
I am also quite happy with my UltraSharp 3007WFP.

Yeah, I saw that insane price when I was doing research. Of course, Black-fridayish time last year, I wasn't even thinking of a new build, let alone a 30" monitor, so you could say the timing is inconvenient.

Thanks for reminding me about shipping, though!

Yes, I think these posts came up in one of Airmanthrap's threads too. My response is the same: I blame TR for this irrational desire to purchase a 30" monitor.

Additionally, I blame TR for rekindling an urge to build a new system in general, further "justifying" the purchase of a new monitor. :)
