Dell U2412M 1920x1200 monitor for $329

Dell's new U2412M monitor that Cyril mentioned a while ago is now on sale for $329; sounds like it might only be for today. I've been thinking about getting the HP zr24w, but will have to seriously consider this.

Nice price for a 16:10 24" ips, especially if you have dell coupons from work or whatever.

Isn't this an e-IPS panel? That would make it inferior to the zr24w's s-IPS panel.

TFT Central lists the U2142M as having an "8-bit" (6-bit + FRC) e-IPS panel and the zr24w as having an 8-bit (true 8-bit, I guess) e-IPS/H2-IPS panel. I'm not familiar with the nuances of IPS panel technology, so I don't know what exactly distinguishes between e-IPS and H2-IPS and if it makes the zr24w worth the extra cash. I haven't gone through the entire U2412M review on TFT Central yet, but from what I've read so far it sounds like 6-bit + FRC isn't a deal-breaker.

It isn't. Unless you have a specific need for an 8-bit panel.

Did it with my brother's old 19" LCD that was a year old. Won't buy another samsung monitor after the trouble with that one and reading so many other identical problems.

That was what actually led me to this forum now that I think of it. The Samsung LCD TV thread in Visual Haven confirmed my suspicions.
