OCZ is such a shoddy company, though. Great deal, but I'd hate giving OCZ any of my money.

I guess the biggest thing is sub $1/gig pricing is becoming the norm.

Amazing how fast SSD's hit that number and how long it took HD's to get there.

I'm waiting for a bit more maturity in the technology along with $0.33/gig. (1TB for $330)

At that price I think I can swing a 512GB drive ($180) with a complete system upgrade. (and it would be worthwhile...)

SSDs evolved in an entirely different context than HDDs. I don't think it's reasonable to compare the $/gig evolution of the two without getting into those contextual complexities. Another way to look at it is that it has taken several decades for the transistor to become cheap enough to begin to compete with magnetic storage.

Yeah Ara... I don't plan on upgrading to SSDs for a few more years as well, but for a somewhat different reason. SSDs still have issues with reliability (not max page writes) that I'm concerned with. I have a SSD in my laptop though and it most definitely made a difference, but the application was completely different and I can stand losing data on it. My laptop actually has a 128GB OCZ Agility 3. From my experience the device had issues till I upgraded to the latest firmware. After that I only get a hickup every month or so. A hickup being where the drive momentarily stops responding for about 15 seconds, but then becomes responsive again.

I don't think I have the most recent firmware on it anymore, but that is the result from the Sandforce BSoD bug fix. The drive momentarily loses connection instead of completely locking up your OS. I'm pretty sure the newest version of the firmware fixes even the hickups I'm getting, but I don't feel like reimaging my computer just to upgrade the firmware.
