motherboard: asus p5n-d nForce 750i LGA 775
Every time I open uTorrent I get this pop-up:
---------------------------
µTorrent
---------------------------
µTorrent is not compatible with 'NVIDIA Firewall' (nvappfilter.dll) that appears to be installed on your computer.
That program contains severe bugs, and might cause µTorrent to crash or behave strangely, including but not limited to using up all your RAM and freezing. Please uninstall that program if you experience any problems.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
However, I haven't experienced any significant problems except for little hiccups while browsing the internet but that could just be a different problem. My motherboard is newer than the ones which first spotted this bug so maybe it's fixed but the pop-up every time I open utorrent is a little annoying. And this must be a severe problem since it's number one question on uTorrents FAQ. They just say to uninstall it.
So how do I uninstall the nvidia firewall? Other sites just say go to add/remove programs and select nvidia driver and just uninstall nvidia firewall but I don't have nvidia firewall there. I have nvidia display driver, ethernet driver components and nForce PCI sytem management driver. But if I search my computer for the file "nvappfilter.dll" I do have that file on my computer so it is installed.
I'd just like to know if I should or need to uninstall NVIDIA firewall. If I do, then how?
