Help me decide between these two RAM's

Wed Nov 16, 2011 1:06 am

I don't know as much about computers anymore as I used to, but I'm looking to upgrade a desktop system I've got running with an ASUS P5K VM Mobo & Core 2 Duo 6300. It currently has 1GB of ram in it, and I'd like to up it to 2GB. I'm trying to decide between 667mhz ddr2 or 800mhz ddr2. As I recall the efficiency depends on your CPU bus speed or something of the such, but I really don't know.

Specifically I'm deciding between these two rams:

http://www.amazon.ca/PNY-MD2048KD2-667- ... 533&sr=1-1

I'm on a budget, so should I pay the extra for 800mhz ram, or just go with the basic 667mhz value ram?

Thanks

The PC2-6400 memory would make it easy to overclock your processor.

4 GiB would be much better than 2 GiB. NCIX will sell you 2x2 GiB for the same price as that 2x1 GiB kit that you picked out.
