ASRock Z77 UEFI Wireless Mouse Problems

Tue Jun 19, 2012 11:03 am

So I recently put together my i5-3570K / ASRock Pro4-m combo from Microcenter ($265 after tax!!) while recycling the rest of the system from my previous rig. I have a Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 that is causing me major headaches though. Upon post, the mouse is bringing me into the UEFI where it jumps around hyperactively and clicks things that it lands on. If I unplug the wireless mouse and use a chorded one, everything works fine. I tried updating to UEFI version 1.2 but it didn't fix the problem. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how do you fix it?

I've put a tech support request into ASRock about this problem, but from previous experience, they take a few days for each response and their first response is rarely helpful. I would really like to fix this as soon as possible.
