Adding 16G to 32G(8GX4Kit) problem likely?

I have a 32G (8GX4Kit) of Corsair ram and wanted to add 16G(8GX2Kit) more for 48G (LOVE my ram drive!).

The Corsair tech did not recommend mixing the ram chips. That the kits were all made from
the same production batch of chips and in mixing the ram I "may" have problems/crashes etc.

Wanted to check in here to see what others thought about taking a chance on mixing ram sticks.

Options... spend $300+ for a new 64G kit or $70 for a 16G kit and take my chances.

Thoughts Welcome!
Thanks,

48GB of non-ecc ram is a bad idea especially for ram drive use
