ASUS Surge Protection...?

Sat Jan 18, 2014 5:44 pm

I came home from work to find my computer in the ASUS surge protection, I run the set up for that and then boot windows normally, the computer would stay on for about 2-4 minutes, then it would shut off and go back to the ASUS surge protection screen and told me to run set up for that again. Then I'd boot windows once again, same thing. Over and over. Now I've gotten to the point where my monitor has no display, Both dvis I have don't work, neither does a VGA>DVI adapter. I reseated my ram once and changed all slots of my ram. On board video doesn't work either. I also took the video card out and re inserted it back into the pcie slot. What should I do....?

I would suspect you might have a bad powersupply. Test with a working spare if possible.

I think it might have nothing to do with the surge protection as this seems to be an internal problem, probably with your power supply or graphics card. There might be some problem with C-MOS battery also. Just in case consult with a system specialist to get more information about this problem. Surge protection is all very essential need for every electrical as well as electronic device. I came to know about the importance of surge protection in our house while reading pages of shock doctors who are licensed to do electrical works which includes surge protection also.
