This is that thin, glass-bezel monitor Dell has been demoing at various shows lately (the shipping version is DVI/HDMI, not DisplayPort). But it's not cheap -- $1200 for a 22" 1680x1050 display. Gizmodo has more pics.

Definitely a love it or hate it design. I, for one, love it and find it gorgeous.

An Ambilight-esque glow from the edges which can be switched on and off independently from the monitor would have been great in my opinion.

That's the only thing I was wondering about. Your going to spend 1200 on a monitor and use integrated speakers.

Lets see... you could buy a real nice 30 in 2560x1600 or this 1680x1050 22"..... really I would just think anyone that bought one of these was a more money than sense idiot wanting to show off.

I was more impressed by the 27" OLED that Sony showed at CES.

I saw the 11" one in person and it was very impressive.

sony must be impressed with it too... they have dumped out of plasma and rptv because of it right?

Yeah, but that's mainly to focus on standard LCD. But the OLED is really frickin cool.

Although I think everyone will be dumping plasma and projection eventually.

I was at Best Buy the other day and could not fathom why anyone would want a projection TV.

In a lot of lighting conditions, projection TVs give a better picture, plain and simple. The lighting in a showroom, however, not so much. I think this is why LCD TV's are doing so well. If people ever saw what their blacks really looked like, they wouldn't be so quick to buy them.

Apparently OLED is the future and everyone thinks so, and sony is just early cutting losses.

Way wider than it needs to be. And speakers just increase the power consumption and the weight. I prefer the other Dell ultrasharp when it comes to looks.

I know dell makes great monitors, but I hate the word dell on any of my hardware.

After doing plenty of research, I see no reason to buy anything but a LCD TV.

It will be a long time till we see large OLED panels though.

The 11" one I saw was awesome. Super thin and (at least to my eyes) a perfect picture.

the blacks in dark room are awful. It looks like a bright something when it's on.

For what it's worth, a friend of mine has a sony sound system that has similar speakers to that (along with a sub) and they sound unbelievable for their size. For that price, I doubt Dell have included speakers that on par with a phone...

Front projection in a light-controlled room, maybe? 100" for $1000 (four years ago) is hard to beat.
