why are these so different in price? it seems the 2nd one, which is cheaper, actually has a faster reposnse time.... i'm confused.....

help me out?

First one is a superior type of panel (PVA) with better color and much better practical viewing angles, even if the response type isn't quite as low. Having said that, depending on your intended usage, that might not mean a whole lot.
There is a fixed amount of intelligence on the planet, and the population keeps growing :(

I just bought a Gateway 24" and while it is beautiful compared to my aging, dim LCD's, the vertical viewing angle is so tight that if I slouch in my chair (I need an Aeron), the display brightness changes dramatically. (TN panel) I'll be returning it and trying the HP LP2465, a PVA. And if that's not good enough, I give a middle finger to restraint and there will be a DoubleSight 25.5" IPS. Conveniently the same amount as the economic stimulus refund.
