Well I'll make this brief, I received my Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 for use on my Canon 40D, and so far so good in terms of handling and performance. I've been getting kind of swamped with school work lately, so I really haven't done much with it, but I did use it around the house a bit today. The construction quality is great, and the weight is perfect for my camera and completely balanced. I was actually surprised at the depth of field in certain situations. Here are a couple of shots from today, none of them are really good but all I have for now:
Here is the original shot as an example for sharpness, if that matters to you.
Here is the unmodified, un-sharpened crop.
I haven't got enough time with it to officially give it a thumbs up or down, but so far I have a positive impression of it. The combination of build quality, fast aperture, and (so far) performance could lead to a very good lens.
