Another "help me pick a monitor"

The upgrade bug has fully settled in, time for a few things that i've been putting off as minor wants. First comes the monitor. I do 3d design and most of the models use a very dark scene, with that in mind i'd like really good blacks. And believe it or not i still use a 1024x768 monitor most of the time, rarely using my current "monitor's"(lcd tv) 1366x768 which games tend to not like very much at all, and 1024 leaves me shuffling around windows trying to see things. So with desktop space, the bigger the better. I've got $350~ that's begging to take care of those problems for me, so what's the latest and greatest since i haven't really paid much attention to what monitors use what panels and all that important stuff.

If you're happy with TN panels, then you can get 1920x1200 in this price range.

I don't believe i know the difference when it comes to color reproduction. I think the work monitors are higher quality panels since i can look at them from any angle without any visible distortion and i really would like that level of quality. I've never done any modeling on one of those to see if the differences between my home setup are significant. The physical size of the monitor doesn't matter too much, i wouldn't have a problem with a 22 1680.
