PS3 always turns itself on through HDMI

I have a Sony HDTV connected via HDMI to a sony HTSS-360 receiver and the PS3 is connected to the receiver in addition to an HDMI coming from my PC. Every time I turn on my TV/receiver, the PS3 ALWAYS powers on. Now, I do have control for HDMI on; HOWEVER, i turned off all the auto-power-on or auto-power off settings. What's even weirder is that the SAT input that I have my PC set to seems to be overridden with the control for HDMI input of the PS3 (when I output my computer via HDMI, it says PS3 input and when I switch it to SAT, it makes no difference).

I never had this issue with a set-top blu-ray player... seems to be the PS3 doing some overriding on HDMI. Has anybody else had issues like this with HDMI (or control for HDMI) with their receiver/PS3 setup?

Is your PS3 the Slim? That's the only one that has Bravia Link (Sony's implementation of HDMI-CEC) IIRC. That is what I can think of.

rogelio, how is it that you turn on your receiver/TV? I've never see that happen, unless you have a BT remote that's been tired to the PS3.

Receiver can either be turned on automatically with the TV (there's an option in the TV settings with Control for HDMI to allow all devices to power on and/or off); however, I've tried those settings both on and off and it doesn't matter. Yes, I have the PS3 remote linked via BT to the PS3; however, I use the TV's remote to power on.

There's a setting to allow control through HDMI. It works well when a newer Sony TV is combined with the PS3 slim. If you don't like that behavior, disable it in your configuration menus.

Disable Bravia Sync on the TV AND on the PS3.
