IR Receiver For HTPC?

I'd like to control my HTPC with my Harmony 880 remote control, but I don't have an IR receiver for the pc. Are they all the same? I'm having trouble finding just the receiver part. They all seem to be sold with Media Center remotes. Can I just buy a cheap remote/receiver set and use the receiver from it?

Got a microsoft media centre IR receiver from eBay without the remote. Works well with my Harmony remote.
