It's about focus. What they were focused on before vs. what they will inevitably be focused on next... Maybe the product will still be awesome but it's doubtful Facebook's influence will be positive (or seen as such by the initial target audience)... I hope they just give them phat stacks of cash to do R&D with and leave them alone otherwise, but what are the odds of that happening? This feels like a big mean kid stealing your favorite new toy and then breaking it while you watch helplessly.
Edit: You know, it's worse than that, it's like giving your favorite new toy to a friend and then finding out they traded it to your worst enemy for some lunch money (and then they don't even say they're sorry).
