You're not a geek till you tried EVERYTHING to mount that one extra heatsink!

[Add:] I'm pretty sure you put the heatsink on backwards and that its supposed to protrude toward the rear of the case, not toward the CPU area like you have it. Not a big deal if the installed CPU cooler will be staying indefinitely, just sayin'
Marvintheandroid wrote:Hi, is this VRM cooling solution still working successfully ? I was concerned about the long term effects of thermal expansion when gluing (thermal epoxy) a single heatsink to a row of VRMs. In theory it should be negligible, but I wasn't sure. Thanks.

Marvintheandroid wrote:Cool, thanks. I have done my Gigabyte GA-Z97X Gaming 5 VRMs now with Arctic Alumina adhesive, because the heatsinks were very floppy and moving around under almost no pressure due to (in my mind) overly weak springs on the pins. I'm sure Gigabyte know what they are doing but it just doesn't seem right for heatsinks to move around that much especially with a vertical board. We'll see how we go - crossed fingers.
