O/Cing P3 800Mhz

Tue Aug 06, 2002 3:50 pm

OK..I want to O/C my p3 800 to a 133FSB..it's at 100 right now. In the bios, if I set the PC to 133mhz FSB it halts on start up and sends me to BIOS with a frequency/RAM error messege.

The multiplier is locked at 8. Is there any way to unlock it?

The ram is pc133 and my mobo is an Asus P3V4X.

is there anything you can pick between 100 and 133 for fsb? when you set it to 133 fsb did you change the pci and agp multipliers?

and pentium 2, 3, and 4's are impossible to unlock afaik

I tried setting it to something like 120Mhz, but it didn't take. I didn't mess with the PCI multipliers any.

that's still a 20% overclock, try a 5% overclock (105 mhz fsb) unless you've got watercooling or something...

I have the same mboard (p3v4x) and cpu (p3 800) and I was only able to get another 100Mhz out of it, it was running pretty hot too.
