Wither a 1.8a or a 2.0a Northwood

Wed Dec 04, 2002 5:07 am

Alas the enternal debate. If I go with a 1.8a it is a natural 2.4(if if works that is) and the 2.0 gets me 2.660 ghz. Both on a 133 fsb. Now assuming the much vaunted C1 stepping is unavailable(God knows I will try and find one) which one should I get? It seems on all the forums that everyone and there dog gets the 1.8 but is that because they are cheaper or are the 2.0's just not as likely to overclock? They are made on the same production line so in theory they should have the same potential like the 2.8 ghz part.

Any advice and for that matter anyone with an overclocked 2.0?

Im thinking youd have less luck finding a C1 stepping 2ghz right now...what you should depend on how soon you want it...I personally would wait till the HT (C1?) cores are disperssed all along the product line.
Your bargaining posture is highly dubious.
